Website | EmailThe Salzburger Festungskonzerte, a local concert promoter, present around 300 chamber music concerts every year. A very special one is the concert on New Year’s eve in the Festung Hohensalzburg castle. This gala includes a concert with the chamber orchestra Festival-Ensemble Salzburg, a five-course meal and sparkling wine at midnight on the terrace of the fortress with a grand view over the Old Town, which has been listed as a UNESCO world cultural heritage a few years ago. The event ends with a display of fireworks. This evening is a tip for everyone spending New Year’s eve in Salzburg, as it takes place in Salzburg’s landmark. The event can also be attended without having the meal, then it is of course at a lower price. Admission: EUR 47.
