Website | EmailThe Salzburg Easter Festival was founded in 1967 by the late and great conductor Herbert von Karajan. The festival comprises a series of concerts in the Gros Festspielhaus in the week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. Claudio Abbado is currently artistic director of the festival, which always includes an opera, an oratorio and several concerts by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. There is also a series of events focusing on contemporary music. Admission: EUR24-144.
