The campus of the University of Costa Rica is a cultural and social center for the country. During second half of April or early May, the University sponsors cultural celebrations with a number of concerts, parades, dances and great food. While many local bands perform in the campus, the highlight of the celebration is the crowning of a new Beauty Queen. See the website for event times.
