This colonial town is very close to San Jose, and it has many charms. Although it has been damaged by various earthquakes over the centuries, it remains much more intact than other towns of the same vintage, and you can see various old buildings in the historic center. There are good restaurants and shops here, and the place is popular among people from the city, in particular the young. This town is highly recommended if you want to escape from the teeming metropolis.
