This film festival is extremely well-respected and is thought to be of the same quality as both the Venice and Cannes Film Festivals. It takes place for nine days in the month of September, and the venue is a beautiful glass–fronted building overlooking the sea. Moreover, the monetary prize is a hefty sum - $135,000 is presented to deserving new directors and producers. Despite the glamour and prestige accompanying the event, however, the festival is best known for its innovative content.
