This palace was built in 1878 by the Dukes of Balén. It is inspired by the French palaces of the time, finished with a slate roof and built of masonry stone. The staircase leading up to the entrance is one of the palace's outstanding features. The palace is in an elevated area of the city, and has impressive views, surrounded by gardens, ponds and water cascades. The gardens were designed by French gardener, Pierre Ducasse. The entrance is free.
