Website | EmailAlso known as the Hindu Chettiars' Temple, this temple along Tank Road is dedicated to Lord Subramaniam. Built in 1859, its construction was financed by the Chettiars, moneylenders from the Madras region. The unique feature is a set of 48 glass panels on the roof which have been designed to capture the rays of the rising and setting sun. They have been engraved with images of various deities. The many statues and shrines within this southern Indian temple are dedicated to members of the Hindu pantheon. It is here that the annual Thaipusam procession concludes its journey.
