Goat Island, one of the islands between the city and the north shore (and, incidentally, where Australia's highest-rating television drama Water Rats is filmed) is home to an up-and-coming new festival that features films from Australia and non-English speaking countries. The festival includes a kids' film fest, performances and exhibitions, and you can self-cater with a picnic and bottle of wine, or visit Cafe Capra on the island. Associated events are also held in various arthouse cinemas around the inner city. Date: November 2001 (exact date to be confirmed).
