Bangarra is one of Australia's leading exponents of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, using the exciting and innovative language of modern and traditional dance, music and song. This company gives a voice to social and political issues, with contemporary stories of urban Aboriginal and Islander people. The Bangarra Dance Theatre is the cultural identity of the people of Yirrkala, North East Arnemland and the Torres Strait Islanders.
