Today this facility is one of Florida's top three ports, surpassed in passenger numbers only by Port of Miami and Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. The port now three cruise terminals and hosts a variety of cruise ships including Holland America Lines, which has been sailing from here for many years, on cruises to the Western Caribbean and the Yucatan Peninsula. The port also is home to a Carnival Cruise Lines' ship and occasionally hosts visits from other ships. Tampa's Florida Aquarium is minutes from the cruise ship docks, too.
