WebsiteIn a nation known for its temples few, if any, generate as much attention as this work of wonder. Recognized as a National Historic Site, it lies 70 miles outside of Tianjin in Jixian City. Built during the Tang Dynasty (618-907) it staggers the brain with an amazing combination of art and architecture. The Eleven Faced Guanyin statue, one of the largest in China, towers 52 feet high inside the Guanyin Pavilion. Colorful murals line the interior walls and include wild portraits of Ming dynasty guardians with three heads, six arms and hideously mean eyes.
