Hotel New Otani Book Store has a good selection of books and magazines in English. The Hotel New Otani itself is well worth a visit. The most spectacular attraction is the hotel's 400 year old garden, a truly magical place. It once belonged to a feudal lord and encompasses ten acres of manicured shrubs, flowering trees, ponds, waterfalls, and bamboo groves. The book store carries photo books of the garden. It also has best selling novels, popular magazines from the US and Europe, Sunday editions of many major American newspapers, and a good selection of travel guides and maps.
