A specialist in kimono zori (ornate sandals), Komatsuya was established during the Taisho Period and has been frequently used by the Imperial Family since then. Originally woven from straw, kimono zori is now handcrafted by Komatsuya in soft leather, which makes it much more comfortable and durable. The craftsmanship is impeccable and the store also offers an after-sales service designed to prolong the life of goods bought at the shop. There is no English signboard, but the displays of zori and kimono accessories should make the store obvious.
