Long before the westernization of Japan and the "junk food-ization" of Japanese youth, people treated themselves to a healthier sweet called "anko" made from sweet bean paste. This shop has been selling those sweets in Asagaya for more than 40 years, and best of all it's still selling them at 40 year old prices. You can try traditional Japanese favorites such as anmitsu, a bean paste jelly served with fruit for only ¥330, or their trademark "usagi manju" (small bean cakes) for only ¥140.
