For those seeking to enjoy the Cuban countryside, María Dolores Finca (farmhouse) is just three kilometers outside of Trinidad. Lodging in cabins is only part of the charm of staying here. Guests participate in the activities of the Guajiro (peasant-farmer) that tend to be cow milking, watching a cockfight and enjoying the countryside on horseback. When the night falls, the Guateque (typical peasant party) begins including campesina (country) music, repentistas (rap-like, improvised singsong rhyming) and improvisational performances by improvisadores. The finca's restaurant boasts serving the most authentic Cuban Creole food in the region.
