Bring out the lawn chairs and party hats. Disguised as a regatta, this annual festival is celebrated all over China but few can match the pomp and magnitude of Xiamen's. Rowers from all over the world, including Australia, the United States and the Southeast Asia, compete in sculls adorned with ornate dragonheads, while revelers pack the shores of Jimei's Dragon Boat Pond. A party atmosphere pervades, aided by live musicians and wandering food and beverage vendors.
