To term this park's statue of Koxinga, or also known as Zheng Chenggong, as large is a faulty understatement. Looming at 1,400 tons and 16 meters high, it is so immense that it is designed to endure typhoons and earthquakes registering eight on the Richter Scale. Excessive? Yes. But considering Koxinga's stature for expelling the Dutch in 1661, locals consider it a fitting tribute. Legend claims that Koxinga heaved his sword into the sea from here before exiting for Taiwan and subsequently turned into this massive rock.
