This is a popular, traditional pub practically in the shadow of York Minster and a stone's throw away from the York City Art Gallery. It has a welcoming atmosphere and is popular amongst locals and tourists alike. Though far from being the largest pub in York, there are plenty of seats, although it can get very busy at peak times. The menu consists of traditional, hearty, pub meals and prices are quite reasonable. There are lots of light bites and snacks for those eating "on the go" and vegetarians are also catered for.
