This is a traditional English-style pub on the edge of the city. Horse racing fans may care to note that the York Racecourse is but a short walk away. Professing an ethos of "inn keeping, with tradition" this pub has captured the look of an old English pub, but unfortunately doesn't capture much of the atmosphere. There are plenty of large tables, so there is ample elbow-room, making it a comfortable place in which to eat and drink. Car parking is available at the rear of the building. The menu is quite comprehensive and offers plenty of hardy, British fare. A typical example of what is on offer would be: roast turkey with port and cranberry stuffing or topside of beef with Yorkshire pudding, cheddar mash and vegetables.
